Pope Francis presented, this Thursday (24) October, to the world his new encyclical, “Dilexit nos”. The Holy Father’s fourth encyclical explores the tradition and current thinking “on the human and divine love of the heart of Jesus Christ”, inviting to renew its authentic devotion so as not to forget the tenderness of faith, the joy of putting one’s own service and the fervor of the mission.
The Pontiff mentions St. Vincent de Paul three times throughout the text, a remarkable fact that highlights the relevance of the Vincentian legacy in contemporary Catholic spirituality. And from his hand he urges us to ask for all “that heart of the Son of God, the heart of our Lord, which disposes us to go as he would go.”
