Council General publishes list of new International Structure members

02/01/2023

The President General’s nominations are valid until September 8th, 2023

According to the Rule, it is the President General’s responsibility to appoint all members who will serve the Council General in any role of the international organizational chart drawn up based on strategic planning.

According to President Generals’ tradition, these appointments are limited to two years. Since the term of brother Renato Lima de Oliveira was extended from six to seven years due to the pandemic, as decided by the International Executive Committee (IEC), a new, residual appointment has become necessary only for the period January 1 to September 8, 2023, when this term ends.

After that date, the next President General will have the prerogative to choose other members, promoting a healthy renewal that is advisable for the International Structure. According to Article 3.28 of the International Statutes, if the new President General so chooses, he may keep the current members of the Structure for six months after taking office, i.e. until March 9, 2024, in order to have adequate time to appoint new collaborators.

Therefore, today, January 2, 2023, the Council General is publishing the list (PDF) with the names of the brothers and sisters from all over the world who have generously accepted the invitation of the President General to do some service within the Council General International. The list is divided into six parts: A (International Board), B (Permanent Section), C (International Territorial Vice Presidents and Zone Coordinators), D (Territorial Delegates), E (Commissions and Departments) and F (other positions and services).

“I thank those Vincentians who have served in the International Structure during this mandate, to whom I express my immense gratitude for their services. To those who stay with us, I wish that they continue with the same affection, dedication and loyalty. And to those who are joining us now, I wish you a warm welcome. Serving the Council General is an honor, a great responsibility, and an immense privilege,” said President Renato Lima de Oliveira.

As you can see, there are many and varied tasks and missions to be accomplished at the Council General and, behind each one of them, there is a committed Vincentian, who will do his best, with God’s help, to fulfill the strategic plan of our organization. There are about 150 positions for which all the Vincentians on the attached list will receive a diploma of service in the coming days.

The President General has made minor adjustments to the International Structure and has kept the same countries that are currently part of the International Executive Committee (IEC) in the two categories that he has the exclusive prerogative to appoint:

Vincentian territories between 0-500 Conferences Vincentian territories between 501-999 Conferences
Netherlands, Uruguay, Tonga, Indonesia and Mozambique France, Canada, Portugal, South Korea and Philippines
