Today we celebrate the Feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, servant to the poor and the FOUNDER of Society of St. Vincent de paul- the lifelong champion of the Society, the courageous commitment who lived through "Crisis of Faith".
He says that "I number myself among those who need to feel they are surrounded with love and support, and God has never allowed me to lack in either of these. Let us go to the poor and we must do what is most agreeble to God."
In Frederic's life, love and friendship were inseparable. It is rare in the history of christianity and of the saints to find a sensibility like this. It was constantly tuned into the joys and sorrows of those he loved. Let's follow the love and friendship which the societies founder showed us for the smooth function of SSVP.
On this glorious day Let's ask ourselves Am I a good Vincentian? Am I able to maintain my Vincentian spirit and work for the betterment of the society? If not, how can?
Let us remember his thoughts and ask for his intercession to influence more and more faithful to contribute to the less fortunate, through the society. Let's seek blessings from the Almighty God to guide us along the best path way for our service and help us to be a better servant of him.
I wish all my Brothers and Sisters a very Happy feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam.May God Bless us all through the intercession of Hail Mary and Bl. Frederic Ozanam.
