On the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of January 2025, the Territorial Vice-Presidents of the International General Council (IGC) participated in a working meeting held at the IGC headquarters in Paris, with remote attendance options available. The meeting focused on strengthening territorial leadership and promoting good governance practices within the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. The sessions, attended by the President General, were led by the Vice-President for Structure and Special Projects, Julio Marques de Lima.

The main purpose of the gathering was to analyze the current challenges of cultural diversity, improve twinning initiatives, implement the Rule, and strengthen governance structures in National Councils through dynamic sessions and plenary discussions. Key topics included strategies to address crises in National Councils, the importance of training and teamwork among Territorial Vice-Presidencies, and a commitment to providing updates to the Communications team to increase visibility and attract more human and financial resources.

The event featured presentations on the safeguarding protocol, led by Elaine Heyworth, as well as sessions on activity planning and risk management. Participants also delved into Vincentian spirituality as the foundation of their social action.

To conclude the event, attendees visited the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Saint Vincent de Paul Museum, and participated in a Mass commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Congregation of the Mission.

In Paris, the SSVP reaffirmed its commitment to its mission of service and to building a global network of fraternity and collaboration.
